So we haven't been posting much lately I'm sure you've noticed. Life has been sooo busy here. Hardly a moment to breathe. About 2 weeks ago or so, I went to one of my best friends Charlottes house to take some pics of her newborn baby. Well...they were supposed to be new born...turned out to be 3 weeks...because it was sooo hard to get up to her place to take pics right after baby was born, because both aspen and I got sick. Anyway, by the time I could go, I thought I'd take Aspen so she could play with Charlottes little boy. This turned out to be a mistake. Picture taking was so frusterating with two toddlers, because everytime we'd get started taking a picture, screaming would come from the other room. Or we'd get baby livi asleep and settled for a picture and a child would come running in and wake her up. It was an adventure in and of itself. We got a few pics, but not all of what I really wanted, but that's ok. I had fun seeing my friend anyway. And she was kind enough to excuse Aspen's terrible behavior when Aspen broke one of their DVD's. The little stink. I learned a lot about taking New Born pics...#1 - allow AMPLE amount of time and patience. #2 - take them when the baby is BRAND new and still sleepy so they will let you pose them how you want to...she had to have her binkie, because she was not happy about us moving her so much. #3 - which is REALLY #1 - NO TODDLERS at the session! #4 - if you are going to have toddlers, bring a babysitter. So...I need more practice still with newborns, but I will get it. If you have a new born and would like free pics, let me know! I need all the practice I can get. And anyone else that would like to model or pose for me, I'm in need of lots of people to pose for me!
Then I've been home, and Ashton and I had our 4th anniversary. Love you Ashton, thanks for being a great father to Aspen and a hard worker at school, and a great husband to me. Your the best! For our Anniversary, we were going to go to Salt Lake and go skiing and spend the night, we were all packed and ready to go and went to drop Aspen off at her Grandmas to spend the night, and we came back to pack up and leave, and we walked in the door and realized how nice it just felt to have the house to ourselves...so instead we went and rented all of Season 4 of Lost, and watched it all in like 2 days. We ate ice cream and sushi and visited. It was fun. Then the next day we went and spent the whole day at Ashton's dad's shop and built an entertainment center for our T.V. it was fun and the entertainment center looks awesome! You rock at building things Ashton! You are the best at it!
So that's all that's been going on, and we've been keeping busy with life...school, a toddler, paying the bills. You know...all the fun stuff. Aspen's new favorite thing is "FANCY NANCY" books, thanks to Paula telling us about them. They are SOOO cute, And now Aspen likes to dress up like fancy nancy and wear wings and so we had to buy her some cute wings. She calls it "Playing fancy wancy" it's funny and sooo cute. I'm glad you introduced it to us Paula! So fun. I'm thinking of doing a Fancy Nancy birthday party for her this year. Her other favorite thing lately is cooking with me. (Pictures below)
And I will leave you all on a funny note...yesterday Aspen found a piece of candy in her carseat and stuck it in her mouth. I asked her what she had, and she said "Candy...but you don't want it, it's yucky, BELK (The sound of gagging). It's only good for little girls, not big ones. BELK." It was hillarious. I laughed and laughed. She is so darn funny. I know she learned this one from us. Anytime we are eating something we don't want to share with her, that's what we do to her...she has learned so well! Oh the things they say...
And here are some pics from the past week. (Don't you just love the one of Aspen trying to sneak the oreos?)
