At the end of my ropes

Alright, so yesterday was a horrid day for me. I am so glad it's done. I was so frusterated the whole day. It started out with me trying to get all my work done so my clients wouldn't be upset that I'm so behind this month, then I went to a job interview, and when I got there, they told me they didn't have any jobs available...so I was wondering what the heck I was doing there. Then found out that I'd met with the wrong person...they put me in the interview with the wrong person, and I got a call while I was in there from who I was supposed to meet with, it was all weird. I got the job...(so long as I pass my background check...) just tutoring 2 days a week at a middle school 4 hours in the mornings. Not too bad. It will pay off our utilities at least I guess.

Anyway, then we came home, Aspen screaming all the way. She has taken to screaming a LOT lately when she doesn't get what she wants. I had to set up an appointment to get our windshield fixed because it's cracked. Love paying for stuff like that.

Aspen was busy ALL day getting into everything and crying when she couldn't. Can you say almost THREE!!! Then as I was wrapping up my work for the day, all the sudden I hear water running in the bathroom and she comes running out crying. Turns out she flushed her underwear down the toilet, and we had water all over. She's a peach sometimes.

Then as if my day hadn't been busy enough, Ashton and I took Aspen to my moms so we could go excercise at Planet Fitness, and when we got back to pick Aspen up, she had a bucket of snow sitting on her lap with her hands in it, because she'd burned both hands on the stove.

It was a fun day to say the least... glad it's done.

Fancy Nancy...Tinkerbell...whatever makes her happy

Aspens new love is "Fancy Nancy" (As I mentioned before - thanks to Paula) and Tinkerbell. She LOVES these. Everyday now we play one or the other. She either will want to read the book or watch the movie. And she of course has to dress up. I had Jamie Younker make me some of these CUTEST EVER skirts, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE them. Thanks Jamie!! Aspen has had a blast in them and wears one at some point every day. She loves her wings too, and FLY'S around everywhere. It's so cute to watch. Tonight she let me take pictures...er let me force her to let me take pictures. Just check out her face...ha ha. That's all I could get out of her. She hates to be tied down to have pictures taken. She'd rather run free. But she was a good trooper for about 10 minutes. And I think they turned out pretty cute. I love this little bug more than anything!

Oh the things they say...

So we haven't been posting much lately I'm sure you've noticed. Life has been sooo busy here. Hardly a moment to breathe. About 2 weeks ago or so, I went to one of my best friends Charlottes house to take some pics of her newborn baby. Well...they were supposed to be new born...turned out to be 3 weeks...because it was sooo hard to get up to her place to take pics right after baby was born, because both aspen and I got sick. Anyway, by the time I could go, I thought I'd take Aspen so she could play with Charlottes little boy. This turned out to be a mistake. Picture taking was so frusterating with two toddlers, because everytime we'd get started taking a picture, screaming would come from the other room. Or we'd get baby livi asleep and settled for a picture and a child would come running in and wake her up. It was an adventure in and of itself. We got a few pics, but not all of what I really wanted, but that's ok. I had fun seeing my friend anyway. And she was kind enough to excuse Aspen's terrible behavior when Aspen broke one of their DVD's. The little stink. I learned a lot about taking New Born pics...#1 - allow AMPLE amount of time and patience. #2 - take them when the baby is BRAND new and still sleepy so they will let you pose them how you want to...she had to have her binkie, because she was not happy about us moving her so much. #3 - which is REALLY #1 - NO TODDLERS at the session! #4 - if you are going to have toddlers, bring a babysitter. So...I need more practice still with newborns, but I will get it. If you have a new born and would like free pics, let me know! I need all the practice I can get. And anyone else that would like to model or pose for me, I'm in need of lots of people to pose for me!

Then I've been home, and Ashton and I had our 4th anniversary. Love you Ashton, thanks for being a great father to Aspen and a hard worker at school, and a great husband to me. Your the best! For our Anniversary, we were going to go to Salt Lake and go skiing and spend the night, we were all packed and ready to go and went to drop Aspen off at her Grandmas to spend the night, and we came back to pack up and leave, and we walked in the door and realized how nice it just felt to have the house to ourselves...so instead we went and rented all of Season 4 of Lost, and watched it all in like 2 days. We ate ice cream and sushi and visited. It was fun. Then the next day we went and spent the whole day at Ashton's dad's shop and built an entertainment center for our T.V. it was fun and the entertainment center looks awesome! You rock at building things Ashton! You are the best at it!

So that's all that's been going on, and we've been keeping busy with life...school, a toddler, paying the bills. You know...all the fun stuff. Aspen's new favorite thing is "FANCY NANCY" books, thanks to Paula telling us about them. They are SOOO cute, And now Aspen likes to dress up like fancy nancy and wear wings and so we had to buy her some cute wings. She calls it "Playing fancy wancy" it's funny and sooo cute. I'm glad you introduced it to us Paula! So fun. I'm thinking of doing a Fancy Nancy birthday party for her this year. Her other favorite thing lately is cooking with me. (Pictures below)

And I will leave you all on a funny note...yesterday Aspen found a piece of candy in her carseat and stuck it in her mouth. I asked her what she had, and she said "Candy...but you don't want it, it's yucky, BELK (The sound of gagging). It's only good for little girls, not big ones. BELK." It was hillarious. I laughed and laughed. She is so darn funny. I know she learned this one from us. Anytime we are eating something we don't want to share with her, that's what we do to her...she has learned so well! Oh the things they say...

And here are some pics from the past week. (Don't you just love the one of Aspen trying to sneak the oreos?)

Humiliation is the word

So today we took Aspen to the Pet store to visit all the fun little animals, and then we went to Borders to buy a Veggie Tales Video for Sammy, (My best friend's son) because when we went to her house this last weekend to take baby pics (I will have to tell you more about that day later) Aspen decided it would be fun to break Sammy's movie. Well anyway, We had just ate, and I needed to go to the bathroom really bad, so I was very focused on getting to the bathroom. Aspen of course followed me, because she can't stand for me to go to the bathroom without her. So I'm going to the potty, while Aspen is asking me if I'm goign #2...(this is humiliation number 1) someone steps into the stall beside us, and I was thinking, holy cow...that looks like a guys hands and shoes...I was appaled that a guy would be in the girls bathroom...humiliation #2...Aspen leans down and looks under the door and says "Mommy, is that daddy?" ugh...so I pull up my pants super fast, and bolt out the door, half washing my hands on the way out...soap still on my hand since I didn't spend time rinsing well, Aspen screaming as I drag her out quickly, telling her to be quiet...step in humiliation #3...I turn and look at the door...and it's a man's restroom!!!!!!!!! AHHHH!!! I seriously almost died. I really hadn't spent time looking at the door, because I had to go bad, so I just rushed into the first bathroom I saw. Next time...no matter how bad I have to go, I am going to check the door out first and make sure it says WOMAN.

So anyway, I walked up to Ashton and said, "We have to leave now...now..." and I booked it out of there quickly. Then starting laughing out of humiliation at myself. And then I had to tell Ashton of course, why I drug him out of there so quickly. That was my final humiliation of the day. So...if you thought YOU were having a crazy day...I think I won today.

Portfolio pics I promised

Here they are. Mind you they don't look as good here, and some are a little crooked because I had to scan them in, then crop them in photoshop, and because I am sick, I wasn't much in the mood to be "Super careful" There were a lot more in my portfolio, but I choose a few of my very favorite.

I'm always open to suggestions on how to make my pics look better!
