I am always forgetting books and movies I love, and every once in a while I will get a glimpse of a movie or book in my mind that I loved, and can't put a name to it, so I want to keep a running list so as I get older and more forgetful I can remember some of the things I loved. This post is definitely for me...won't be too entertaining for anyone else. I am going to just keep adding to this list as I think of them.
Movies
The Student Prince - Mario Lanzas voice is so nice in this movie, even though he plays no part but the voice of the main character, he has a great voice to listen to. As story is told, he couldn't play the main part because he didn't have the face for it. sad. My dad loved this movie, and so that's probably where I grew my love for it. There is one part in the movie I don't like because it's a LONG drawn out song that feels like eternity to watch, so I usually fast forward through that one.
Fanny - with Leslie caron - I just love looking at her, I think she is gorgeous. It's a sad story, and I'm a sucker for sad stories. But it also has funny parts in it. It is probably not one a lot of people would enjoy, but It has been one of my favorites since I was young.
Fiddler on the Roof
Count of monte cristo - old and new
man in the iron mask - old
A tale of two cities
Darby o gill and the little people
gnome mobile
shirley temple movies
Seven brides for seven brothers
Gigi - Leslie caron - once again, I just think she is so pretty, Audrey Hepburn-esque. One of the first times I saw this was with my childhood best friend charlotte and I remember laughing at it, I thought it was enjoyable. And I loved the music.
My Fair Lady - Audrey Hepburn classic! Watched this all the time with my family growing up and it is still one of my favorites.
Gone with the Wind - always makes me think of my friend Drea, she and I love this movie. I love when he says "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn" Classic!
The Happiest Millionaire - who wouldn't love a movie where alligators are kept as pets?
The Scarlet Pimpernel - jane seymore and Anthony Andrews - SOOO good! Anthony Andrews is hillarious and plays this part so well!
Alan and Naomi - world war 2 movie
Casablanca- here's lookin at you kid! Great movie!!
The sound of music - wonderful music, and of course movies with Julie Andrews are fantastic
Singing in the Rain - Gene Kelly - need we say more?
Hello Dolly
Funny Girl - introduced by Charlotte
Unsinkable Molly Brown - another one introduced by Charlotte

Calamity Jane - such good music!
Francis the talking Mule - introduced by the Haws family
Ever After - such a sweet movie - I remember going to this movie at the theatre with my mom and dad, just us three. it was a real treat when I was younger to get to go to a movie with them!
Pride and Prejudice - the 6 hour version
Sense and Sensibility - the kate winslet version
P.S. I love you - awww!!!
Arsenic and old Lace - so funny
Apple dumpling gang
Pay it Forward - such a touching movie
Roman Holiday
Fools Rush in - one of my first favorite modern movies
My best friends wedding - I watched this for the first time on New Years Eve at my friend Lisas house when it first came out and it quickly became one of my favorites.
- this post is in the works, I will be adding to it all the time I'm sure. In case I ever forget, so my children know what movies and books I enjoyed. Some of these movies I can't even find at rental places anymore because they are such old movies no one seems to carry them. Somers in Logan use to carry them all before they shut down.
What are some of your favorites?? I love hearing other peoples favorites so I can check them out and see if I too like them
BOOKS
Boxcar Children
American Girl Books

I've been itching to watch Hello Dolly for ages... I feel like I haven't watched anything but
I still love Ever After, Marley & Me, and I like the new Pride & Prejudice, too. I feel like I haven't watched anything but action/spy movies in years, thanks to my hubby.
Good post! I love most of these movies--well, all the ones that I have seen! I haven't seen Darby O'Gill in forever and it made me laugh to think of it.
